This is a small, new place with amazing service and delicious food! Came here with my mom for lunch and now I’m looking forward to bringing my husband and friends with me. We were greeted with full smiles and cozy vibes. They have a decent sized static menu with an additional “specials” menu board that changes every few weeks. We ordered lumpia, chicken adobo, and kaldereta. All 3 dishes were incredible, but my personal favorite is kaldereta so I may be bias in saying that it’s a must try! We also ordered a halo halo to share and it was delicious. The portion sizes are large and can be shared family style. They have a “brunch” section on their menu with a few silogs, but those are individual dishes. This is a small place but has decent seating, very clean, and I noticed they had a few table games so I can see this being a good place to catch up with friends for lunch/dinner on the weekends. I’m a bit picky with eating out at Filipino restaurants because my Nanay makes the best (of course!) but Julie Ryan is a place that I’ll definitely come back to!
The owner was so hands-on and kind. Very accomodating. The food taste authentic. Definitely worth the 3-hr drive from Indiana.
Came on a Saturday with my sister, we both got brunch specials as well as bbq skewers and lumpia. Food was fantastic! Very filling and very comforting. There's about 6 tables for eating in, they're on food apps (like door dash), and based on signage, it seems they still take catering orders too. Can't speak to authenticity since I'm white, but my sister and I were the only white people during our stay, so it seems it's well supported by the community and that makes me happy and hopeful they'll stick around so I get to keep coming here! It was a bit slow from ordering to receiving food, but my understanding is the business just transitioned from catering pretty exclusively to this location to do restaurant service in the past month or so and was not expecting anything speedy going in. Service was extremely friendly, helpful, and I did overhear at another table them helping to navigate some food allergies, which I always love to see! Overall, a great addition to the Detroit area food scene and I look forward to stopping back in soon!
Good n not so good, let me tell you. Hot n New just opened a couple weeks ago, been on my radar. Saturday afternoon full house, waiting 15 minutes for table not bad. We only Gringo's in da house, filled with families enjoying the food from the homeland. First shout-out to our superstar waitress Anabell for the five star service , that's how it's spelled on the receipt. We had Lumpia Shanghai 6 Pc with dipping sauce . Chicken Empanada 2pc OMG best ever Eaten a must try. Spam Silog spot on wonderful , Love the Garlic Rice that comes with it. Bistek with Onion's totally Wowed , marvelous Steak n Sauteed Onions. Never received Siopao was charged for on bill. Order of Chicken Adobo was not delivered to table for 30 minutes, it was terrible , owner took off the bill. Growing pains missing many traditional foods I have had like Skewers of Meat and those little Sausages. So sad The menu prices don't match, take a look at photo , one person says they charge 6 percent for credit card fee. Wish them well, will visit again this summer if menu is updated. A 4 star experience suggest you visit. #philippinefood #philippinerestaurants @julieryanphilippinecuisine #chickenepanadas #bistek #spamsilog #chickenadobo #troymi #philippino
Delicious and authentic Filipino food. So many good food choices in the menu. As soon as we entered the door we were greeted with a very warm welcome and the service was wonderful. Super friendly people and clean environment. We will for sure be back again soon.
The food was delicious. The lumpia is crispy and savory. The bicol express is amazing. Spicy and full flavors of ginger and peppers and coconut with tender, juicy pork belly. The staff are also friendly and engaging. I highly recommend it.
Every dish was authentic and delicious. My favorite was the sisig. The owner is so friendly and kind. He even gave us extra palabok sauce. We’ll definitely be back!
Fine food. Great service. Pancit was fine and cooked fine. But it was very salty and heavy on the soy sauce flavor. Would’ve liked a balance on the other flavors. The to-silog was great. Garlic rice was tasty with its garlic taste. The pork was cooked very well. Service was great. Ryan was very friendly and accommodating. Pricing was a tad bit on the higher side for the portions. 7.5/10
